Kristina Stedman was born in Kuching, Sarawak, Borneo, in 1951, the daughter of Dudley Morgan, the last serving
District Officer to serve under Rajah Brooke.
After getting married in 1983 Kristina started painting professionally, beginning with watercolours and then moving
on to acrylics. Kristina's style verges on the hyper-realistic, and she has mainly concentrated on local landscape
and architectural scenes of interest. More recently, she has widened her repertoire to include the depiction of motorbikes,
classic cars, and pet portraits. She has become a known Sussex artist, having sold many pictures from local galleries in Brighton,
Eastbourne, Alfriston and Seaford. A substantial number of her pictures have gone to customers abroad, as far afield as Australia,
Sweden, North America, and Borneo.
Kristina has lived in Newhaven for many years and is still at the same address. Although she is essentially self-taught, she successfully completed a 3 year part-time Certificate in Art course at Brighton Polytechnic in 1990 (now Brighton University). She has also exhibited and sold at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Mall Galleries, London.
